New Atheist TV Network — Aren't They All Already?

Even though mainstream media is already anti-Christian (although they CLAIM to be objectively unbiased), that's not good enough for the American Atheists organization that just announced their launch of America's first exclusively atheist TV network.
"Atheist TV is geared toward every atheist in the broadest possible sense. Whether they call themselves atheists or skeptics or humanists or any of the other labels that people use to identify themselves, Atheist TV is for them. . . . Sometimes things need to be said, and fights need to be fought even if they are unpopular. To the closeted atheists, you are not alone, and you deserve equality."
-- David Silverman, president of American Atheists

Atheists are angry, and watch out, because now they have a television channel.

American Atheists, founded in 1963, is a serious organization that advocates the absolute separation of church and state and a view of life that emphasizes the here and now and provable. The channel, Mr. Silverman said in the first streamed broadcast, will have no psychics, no ghost hunters, no “science fiction presented as science fact,” and will be “a place we can call our own, where we can speak the truth as frankly as we want.” It intends, he said, “to promote the idea that religion can and should be criticized.”

[After] the rousing speech from the American Atheists president, David Silverman, in the opening moments of the first US television broadcaster dedicated to those who do not believe in God, Atheist TV . . . A series of testimonies from prominent atheists then follows.

"It's one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life and I completely advocate people 'coming out'," says Mark Hatcher, from Black Atheists of America.

"Coming out" is how many atheists in the USA describe what remains, for many, a very difficult admission to make publicly.

From "Atheist TV Officially Launches; David Silverman Criticizes History Channel for Presenting Bible as History" by Stoyan Zaimov, Christian Post Reporter 7/31/14

"How can we trust what the History Channel says if it tells us that Jesus walked on water? The Discovery Channel treats ghosts like they are real. How can we believe that 'Mythbusters' is telling the truth?" [Silverman said].

"The Bible" miniseries on the History Channel, which was a 10-part show co-produced by husband and wife team Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, scored highly impressive ratings for the network and broke DVD records upon release.

Atheist TV was launched through streaming service Roku, and partners with other atheist groups, such as the Richard Dawkins Foundation.

From "Creationist Ken Ham Blasts Atheist TV's Launch" by Anugrah Kumar, Christian Post Contributor 8/4/14

Ken Ham, founding president and CEO of Answers in Genesis, responded to the premiere of the world's first ever all-atheist TV channel last week by blasting the efforts at "not just targeting adults with a hopeless message of godlessness, but … also trying to indoctrinate children into an atheistic worldview."

"I've always found it fascinating how they think their purpose is to impose their message that there is no purpose onto people!" Ham wrote in a blog post in response to the launch of Atheist TV, an initiative of American Atheists.

"Well, this new TV channel highlights the growing intolerance toward Christianity in particular — and other religions, with the exception of their own," Ham wrote.
